What is a Relaxation Massage?
A Relaxation Massage is designed to work on the overall tensions of your body. If it is the first time that you get a massage, you might want to choose a Relaxation Massage over other kinds of massage therapies. It is the perfect way to gently “wake up” your body to the touch of your therapist and to “contact” your tensions. If you feel stressed out, irritated or experience a general discomfort in your posture, you might also want to go for a Relaxation Massage.
In relaxation, we do not work on the deeper muscles of the body, but rather on the outer layers of the body tissue. We will use gentle to medium pressure, long flowing strokes encouraging the entire body to “let go”. We work intuitively with you and in this respect there is no set sequence for the massage and no two massages will be identical.
Relaxation Massage in our Practice
Relaxation massage sessions in our practice are setup to follow a specific schedule. We do spend extra time to complete your anamnesis (or Health and Pain history) like we do with other treatments (see Therapeutic Massage) – but this time, we will focus more on your energy level at the time of the session, and on how stress is affecting your body and posture.
